State Biotechnology Advisory Board

The Government of Rajasthan has constituted a State Biotechnology Advisory Board under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Chief Minister comprising of eminent scientists, subject experts and concerned secretaries to the government. The Board is an autonomous body attached to the Department of Science & Technology and aims to promote enterprise in Biotechnology by

• Ensuring proper scientific coordination amongst different institutions and universities of state for rendering advice in matters related to Biotechnology.

• Exploring opportunities for collaborative research.

• Assisting in mobilizing resource, technology & financial for ensuring that the state attains a prime position in biotechnology.

• Providing a policy framework on human resource development, techno infrastructure, bio safety and bio surveillance.

Regulatory Framework

For ensuring appropriate ethical and safety standards, the Government of Rajasthan has constituted a State Biotechnology Coordination Committee to advise the Government and to co-ordinate with the GEAC and the Institutional Bio Safety Committee.

A Global Advisory Group for networking with Indian Scientists working in the developed countries would be set up with the aim to have a ready access to advanced knowledge of research for benefiting indigenous industry.
